Consumers Digest announced its annual automotive "Best Buys" and Chrysler Group received eight awards, more than doubling the number of "Best Buys" the automaker earned previously, Allpar.com reported the Chrysler's 2012 "Best Buys" are: Chrysler 300, Chrysler Town and Country, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Dodge Challenger, Dodge Durango, Dodge Grand Caravan, Fiat 500, and Ram 1500, the article said.
The Consumers Digest editors determine "Best Buys" on many build quality and performance attributes such as ergonomics, fit and finish, utility, acceleration and fuel economy. They also look at cost of ownership variables such as resale value, warranty, maintenance costs and annual operating expenses, Allpar.com said.
"it will be extremely interesting to see what unfolds for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram in the 2013 model year," says Editor Rich Dzierwa of Consumers Digest. "New quality strategies put in place by Fiat since it took over control of Chrysler's operations should genuinely start to kick into gear soon," Dzierwa said according to Dealer communications.
