"In a segment full of fuel-saving, family-oriented vehicles the base Dart SE with its efficient 2.0liter inline four fits right i," with an MSRP of $15,995, the NortheastSun paper in Canada said.  "The Dart Rallye offfers buyers a hotter 1.4-liter turbo engine starting at just $20,295," the Sun said, while other compacts such as the Ford Focus ST and Mistsubishi Lancer Ralliart may offer more performance, but are priced well above $30,000.

Canadian Website Sympatico.ca created their list of favorites for "families on the go" following road tests of many new vehicles.  "There  are almost too many clever, family-friendly, features" to name of the Dodge Journey, Sympatico.ca said.  Some features they did name include rear doors open a full 90-degrees, handy little storage bins that double as coolers and built-in booster seats.

The website said the Jeep Grand Cherokee offers cargo capacity enough for a family weekend trip and comfortably seats five adult when not stowing gear.

JEEP BRAND ON A ROLL

Jeep brand global sales have "been on a tear" the Wall Street journal reports, thanks to the Jeep Grand Cherokee and other hot-selling models such as the Wrangler.  "While that's great news for the Jeep brand, it makes for a lot of headaches for those in charge of keeping dealership lots full," Autoblog wrote, quoteing Jeep CEO Mike manley saying he's always worried "about having enough Wrangler production... not just here in the United States, but worldwide."

All Jeep Wranglers are built in Toledo, Ohio, a plant that "is nearly always running at full steam," Autoblog wrote.  That's why, Automotive News wrote, Chrysler Group and UAW officials have agreed to a plan to increase Jeep Wrangler output by 90 units a day by June.

Jeep's European sales increased an "incredible" 61.8 percent in 2011, compared to the overall European market being down 1.4 percent, Left Lane News wrote.  not only is the Jeep brand finding new customers, but is increasing customer loyalty at the same time.  Autoblog reports that the Jeep brand enjoyed the largest improvement in J.D. Power's Customer Retention Study, with a jump of 17 percentage points in 2012.

DODGE JOURNEY GETS SOME LOVE

The editors at Road & Travel magazine listed the 2012 Dodge Journey among the year's top 10 SUVs in their new "2012 Sport Utilitity Buyer's Guide."  Road & Travel editors praised the Journey's ability to carry seven passengers without looking oversized in the process, its class-leading storage, including the front passenger in-seat bins and the dual rear seat floor bins, its interior design and the available class-exclusive built-in rear child booster seats, as well as the overall driving experience.

"The 2012 Dodge Journey was one of our first and unamious choices for being such a family functional, well-built and attractive SUV," Courtney Caldwell, Road & Traveler's editor-in-chief said.  At Examiner.com they agreed.  "We have said the Dodge Journey was  a top pick, for two years running now, and ROad and Travel Magazine and Consumer Guide have confirmed our findings," Examiner.com said.  they love it north of the border too.

"Canadians love the Dodge Journey," the Toronto Star said.  "This unassuming five-door consveyance strikes a chord with pragmatic canadians with its versatility, choice of drivetrains and affordability."  The Journey received a major kick up the quality ladder last year, undergoing a comprehenseive makeover that resulted in a more refined ride, available V-6, additional sound insulation and vastly improved interior digs, the Star said.  Journey's flexible seating turns the mid-size crossover into a usable seven-seater--a rarity in this segment, the paper said.
